Alpha Helix Extraction System
Alpha Helix has developed a technology to extract DNA from
whole blood in less than 2 minutes. It is a rapid and simple
extraction system, which is an important component in the
Alpha Helix platform for DNA/RNA analysis.
The extraction is performed in a closed system with syringes
containing necessary reagents both for purification of the
sample, breakage of the cells and extraction of DNA/RNA.
The sample is then directly transferred to the superconvector.
No manual pipetting is needed. An increased mass transport
is generated when the cell suspension is pushed over a matrix
and thus both cell rupture and purification of nuleic acid
become very effective.
The extraction system is under development and will be
launched during 2003.

Alpha Helix is currently developing a 0,2 ml reaction tube.
It will have improved optical and structural features specially
adopted for superconvection PCR. |
