Sequence verified detection in 90 minutes. In addition to providing quantitative data in 10-15 minutes, QuanTyper-48 can also be used to prepare samples for diagnostic sequencing.

When combined with Capillary Electrophoresis using short capillaries (not provided by AlphaHelix), at least 300 bases of dideoxy sequence data can be rapidly generated, offering a new strategy to fight diseases like HIV and avian flu.

QuanTyper-48 is also an effective tool for human identification in forensics and transplantation surgery as well as for identifying bacteria types with the powerful MLST-methodology.

Capillette is a patented cartridge ideally suited for PCR and qPCR and is used for pre-dispensing of complete PCR assays, including primers and probes. Capillette is emptied by centrifugation and, therefore, fits particularly well with QuanTyper™-48, where high speed centrifugation is used to deliver the PCR reagents directly at the start of the run.

Capillette fits equally well with Rotor-Gene 6000 from Corbett Life Science, although this requires an extra 60 seconds centrifugation in a high speed centrifuge prior to the start of the run.

Since Capillette fits conventional 0.2 mL tubes, by functioning as a lid, it can be used with any block instrument available on the market (although it may interfere with fluorescence readings in certain qPCR instruments).
