AlphaHelix is currently
developing a 2nd generation
real-time instrument that
will replace QuanTyper-48.

our upcoming real-time instrument.
QuanTyper-48™
is the first qPCR instrument to
utilize SuperConvection, making
it the world's most rapid qPCR instrument.
During the development process,
a number of very rapid and outstanding
qPCR-analyses have been obtained
by AlphaHelix as well as in cooperation
with prominent partners.
Typically 40 cycles (including melt
point analysis) in 15 minutes. HRM
analysis of 48 samples in 2-3 minutes.
Ideal for samples with high concentrations
of inhibitors. Scaling up the PCR
reaction volume may alleviate PCR
inhibition, see Application
note #1
QuanTyper™-48 runs PCR reaction
volumes up to 200 µL. This enables
the use of larger sample volumes.
Taking more sample equals more template
molecules - which will give a higher
sensitivity. If your reaction volume
is limited – so is your sensitivity.
Conventional PCR tubes that rotate
at 5,000 rpm ensure temperature uniformity
between samples (no so-called “well-to-well”
variation that are characteristic
of thermal blocks).
Sample temperature is monitored via
temperature probes located next to
the sample tubes. Knowing the exact
and true temperature of the samples
allows the QuanTyper-48 to ramp at
speeds that would otherwise result
in over or undershoot in temperature.
Real-time temperature measurements
are also of great value to and increase
the resolution of high-resolution
melting (HRM) analysis.
