SuperConvection™
is a new technology that speeds up thermal
cycling and biochemical reactions. The beneficial
effects of SuperConvection on PCR temperature
homogenization and reaction kinetics have
been scientifically evaluated and published
in the
European Biophysics Journal.
Based on SuperConvection, AlphaHelix has developed a new instrument: the QuanTyper™-48 for rapid and high-quality qPCR.

SuperConvection is a technology that
enables rapid thermal cycling in sample
volumes from 20 up to 200 µL. This gives
a higher detection
sensitivity than any other qPCR platform.
Typical applications
range from clinical and veterinary diagnostics,
forensic science and food and biosafety testing.

Features of SuperConvection
Thermal heterogeneity is the rate limiting factor in thermal cycling processes. It is also the major source of non-specific amplification.
SuperConvection induces enhanced mass transport in the reaction mixture. This has two effects:
 |
Instantaneous thermal
homogenisation. |
 |
Enhanced reaction kinetics. |
